A presidential proclamation by President Trump stated three more countries to be added to the restricted travel list. The list that already had Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria and Yemen has added Chad, Venezuela and North Korea.

The administration has given conditions that include, suspended immigrant and nonimmigrant travel and also allow travel for nonimmigrants with additional checking.

The proclamation is condition based and that gives the administration freedom to alter the conditions as and when required. The Homeland Security Department also has the power to recommend countries that should be added to the list.

This ban is not for the lawful permanent residents of the United States, the ones already in America, the ones with valid visas, dual citizens traveling to the U.S. with passports from not banned countries and those granted asylum.

Once the travel ban proclamation was released, President Trump said, “The travel ban– the tougher the better.”
