The Islamic State released a recording urging a lone wolf attack in India. The 10 minute long audio was released through the Telegram app from Afghanistan. The male voice speaking in Malayalam, calls for attacks like the recent Las Vegas shooting in India. The recording also says to attack places like Kumbh Mela and Thrissur Pooram. This is the 50th such recording released by the notorious Daesh group.

The police found the audio a few weeks ago and verified it was from the Islamic State group. The police analyzed the recording and reported the audio was allegedly from Rashid Abdullah, the leader of the Daesh. The National Investigation Agency has prepared a charge sheet against Rashid. The charges are under IPC sections 120B (criminal conspiracy) and Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) Sections 38, 39 and 40.

Former Special Director of Cabinet Secretariat, V. Balachandran responded to the audio clip by saying, “This is very serious. They are going to take the battle to India from Europe and the Middle East.” Kerala’s DGP Loknath Behera said the matter has been taken seriously and the matter will be thoroughly investigated.
