The T20 match between Australia and New Zealand was an event filled with record breaking moments. Australia made history after they completed the biggest chase against New Zealand during T20I cricket. A new world record was set as Australia successfully chased New Zealand’s 243 runs for 6 wickets. The Aussie team did this with seven balls and five wickets to spare at the Auckland Stadium.
Aussie batsman David Warner and D’Arcy both scored half centuries to give their team a good start at the Eden Park. New Zealand put on an amazing show with Martin Guptill and Colin Munro sweeping the balls for boundaries.
Guptill scored a century giving him the title of Highest Scoring Player in Twenty20 international history. He beat Brendon McCullum’s 2,140 runs with his 2,188 runs. Indian Captain Virat Kohli is on the third spot with 1,956 runs. Century maker Guptill reached triple digits in just 49 balls making it the fastest T20 century in New Zealand history.
