Paris Shifts 1,500 Immigrants From City Centre

Parisian officials are set to evacuate 1,500 migrants from the street camps as Europe has been witnessing a rise in new immigrants every day.

The immigrants have been camping at the La Chapelle neighborhood according to the City Hall. They said the immigrants would be shifted to temporary shelters in Paris. In the last two years, this is 34th such operation in Paris alone.

The Paris City authorities estimated many dozens will be fleeing from the conflicts. The immigrants also include people experiencing poverty in Africa and those from the Middle East that will be shifting to the French capital. Also, with passing time, the number of people crossing into Britain illegally from the port of Calais has also doubled.

The mayor of the city also decided to bring it to the central government’s notice to pass a law incorporating more strict measures that will control the flow of immigrants into the country.

Different centers in the area have also extended hospitality to the immigrants, but they were not large enough to house all of them. People have come into the city two times more than last summer by crossing the risky sea from Libya.
