Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Wuhan, China late on Thursday night for his two day informal summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted, “A special moment past midnight as PM @narendramodi was warmly welcomed in Wuhan for the 1st Informal Summit with Chinese President Xi. The two leaders will review the developments in our bilateral relations from a strategic and long-term perspective.”
The two leaders are expected to clear a few issues including the recent boundary problem. Officials from the two presidents’ cabinet stated there would not be any agreements made during these talks.
PM Modi will tour some of the museums in the city and then take a boat ride. The Chinese Government has arranged dinner at the East Lake in Bambawale. Chinese authorities have said India plans to appoint Bollywood actor Amir Khan as the brand ambassador.
Mr. Khan will serve as the ambassador to boost trade between India and China. Amir Khan became quite popular in China after his film Dangal was a massive hit in the Country. President Xi was also one among many who thoroughly loved watching the film.
