As of 5:00 P.M., the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI,) on the 9th of February, is questioning Rajiv Kumar, the Kolkata Police Commissioner, on the grounds of his involvement in the Rose Valley Group and the Saradha Group chit fund scams.
The CBI is conducting a probe into the chit fund scams. According to a CBI report, Rajiv Kumar, who was investigating the case, tampered with the evidence and took bribes from the accused. The CBI also claimed, the Mamata Banerjee Trinamool Congress (TMC) was also involved in the case.
Rajiv Kumar, on the 9th of February, reached Shillong, Meghalaya and arrived at the office of the CBI. The interrogation began at 11:00 A.M.
According to sources, Mr. Kumar was taken to the CBI office by the top three officials of the CBI and was given accommodation at a reputed hotel in Shillong. Along with the Shillong CBI team, a team from Delhi also accompanied Rajiv Kumar to the interrogation session.
