A 11 year old girl was raped in an ESI Hospital of Delhi on Friday morning. A housekeeping staff allegedly raped the girl in the hospital situated in Rohini.
The parents of the girl filed a complaint against Radhey Shyam, a 40 year old housekeeping staff. The police arrested the accused and charged him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the K. N. Katju Marg Police Station.
According to sources, the incident happened around 4:30 A.M. She was admitted to the hospital on the 13th of September and was going under medical treatment.
A police officer on the case said, “The staffer told her not to tell anybody about it. She returned to her bed and when her mother returned, she told her everything.” The victim’s parents called the nearest police control room and reported the crime after an hour, around 6 A.M.
The Deputy Commissioner of Rohini Police Rajneesh Gupta stated, “A police team reached the hospital and arrested Radhey Shyam.” He further added Radhey Shyam was a contract based staff, unaware of his working period at the hospital.
The police have started investigating the matter and interrogating the hospital staff.
