Two men allegedly raped a woman prisoner in a government hospital in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, on the 14th of November.
The case came to light after the victim, a prisoner of the Sitamarhi Jail, reported the incident to the Superintendent of Ahiyapur Police Station in Muzaffarpur, after she came back from the Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital.
The victim was admitted to the hospital on the 11th of November to undergo treatment. She was raped by two policemen, Sailesh Kumar and Chotelal Kumar, in the washroom of the hospital, on the 14th of November.
Manoj Kumar Singh, Officer In Charge, Ahiyapur Police Station, said, “A case has been registered on the basis of a written complaint by the victim.”
Ranjeet Kumar Singh, the Sitamarhi District Magistrate, said, “I can assure that the matter will be investigated impartially and necessary action will be taken soon.”
Emphasising on the incident taking place in Muzaffarpur, Tejashwi Yadav, a Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader, took to Twitter and criticised the Nitish Kumar led Bihar Government.
