Bandi Ramesh, a local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader in Bellary, Karnataka, was hacked to death on Thursday night. The minister was killed at a roadside eatery and the killers were not identified.
The minister was also vice president of BJP’s ST Morcha. He was attacked by lethal weapons by the attackers. The police reported this might be the result of a previous enmity. Ramesh, reportedly, was accused of several criminal cases in the past.
This death is similar to the death of BJP member Kithaganahalli Vasu, who was hacked to death. This was submitted to Bengaluru’s Surya City Police station limits. The case has been left unsolved.
In 2016, on October 16, a worker of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) was killed in Bengaluru. This sparked protests by Bharatiya Janata Party and RSS workers.
