A fashion designer and her security guard were murdered at Vasant Kunj Enclave of Delhi, yesterday.
Mala Lakhani, 53 years old and Bahadur, 42 years old, were found dead at Mala’s residence. Police rushed to the spot after getting information about the murder and started an investigation.
A senior police officer said, “The incident came to light after the locals found that the entrance door of her house was ajar at A-82, Vasant Kunj Enclave and the security guard was missing from his seat. They informed the police about the incident at around 3:00 A.M., and police rushed to the spot. After reaching there, police (sic) found their bodies, lying in a pool of blood and house (sic) was ransacked.”
Mala Lakhani used to run a boutique at Green Park. She worked with three staff members.
The investigation revealed, the tailor, working at her boutique, Rahul Anwar, planned and committed the murders. Rahul Anwar was helped by his two relatives, Wasim and Rehmat. The three accused surrendered to the police around 3:00 A.M.
Ajay Choudhary, a police officer, said, “Three people have confessed to the crime. The prime accused Rahul Anwar, who was a tailor at the fashion designer’s workshop, committed the crime with two of his relatives in an attempt to loot.”
After interrogating the staff and relatives of Mala Lakhani, the police found out, Mala did not give salaries to Rahul Anwar, following which he planned the murder and robbed her.
The bodies of the victims were sent for an autopsy. The three accused were arrested and an investigation is underway to verify their motive for murder.
