The driver, Riyaz, was arrested for trying to sexually assault a seventh grade student.

The Mumbai Police on Monday found the head of 23 year old Priyanka Gurav. She was allegedly murdered by her in laws and husband just four days after her marriage. This incident occurred in Shahpur, which is on the outskirts of Mumbai city.

The police arrested Priyanka’s husband Siddhesh, 25 and her in laws Manohar, 50 and Madhuri 48. Siddhesh’s friend Durgesh Patwa, 31 and Pradeep Jain, 34, were also arrested in the murder case. Pradeep allegedly had helped Siddhesh dispose the chopped up body on Sunday.

Priyanka was reported missing by her husband on April 5th and registered a case at Worli Police Station. The Police found her beheaded body in the nullah of an industrial area last week but could not identify as the head was cut off. Priyanka’s siblings identified the body by the Ganapathi tattoo on her body and from the clothes.

The senior police inspector of Rabale MIDC police station, C. Katkar said that “The accused killed the victim on April 4 by smothering her with a pillow. They then cut her body into pieces and dumped it at different spots in the city. We recovered her leg from Badlapur on Saturday. More people are likely to be arrested.”
