A murder took place today in Rajendra Nagar, Hyderabad. A man was axed to death on a busy road by two men named Krishna and Laxman, in broad daylight.
According to sources, the victim, J. Ramesh, was involved in a murder case which took place last year during the month of December. He was the main accused in burning Mahesh Goud and throwing his body near a temple. Krishna Goud, the father of Mahesh Goud, led the attack and Laxman Goud, Mahesh’s uncle, helped him.
A video recorded by the onlookers shows two men on a bike attacking Ramesh, with an axe. The video also captured two policemen who witnessed the incident. One of the two policemen tried stopping the accused from striking the victim. However, he failed to do so, following which he was seen running away from the spot. Apart from this, it is also seen in the video that as the murder was being committed, a Cyberbad Police vehicle passed by the spot without stopping to take any action. The incident came to light when this video went viral on various social media platforms.
The viral video of the brutal killing raised questions about the lack of action taken by the police department to stop the crime. When asked about the carelessness of the police, a police officer Prakash Reddy said, “Two policemen went to get their sticks. By the time they returned, it was too late.” He further added, the traffic police arrested the accused men.
The police have started an investigation and suspect revenge to be the motive behind the attack.
