Kamal Nath, the Chief Minister (CM) of Madhya Pradesh, on Tuesday, formed his Government and appointed 28 cabinet ministers in Madhya Pradesh (MP.)

The newly formed Cabinet includes 9 ministers from the Malwa Nivad region, 6 from Central Madhya Pradesh, 5 from the Gwalior Chambal region, 3 from Bundelkhand and 1 Muslim minister.

Arif Aqueel, a member of the Indian National Congress (INC,) is the only Muslim Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) in the State. There are two female ministers, Vijay Laxmi Sadho (Maheshawr constituency) and Imarati Devi (Dabra constituency,) in the Cabinet.

Some of the newly elected legislators are from the camps of Digvijaya Singh, the two time Chief Minister of MP, Jyotiraditya Scindia, the Chief Whip of Lok Sabha and Arun Yadav, the ex State Congress Chief.

Anandiben Patel, the Governor of Madhya Pradesh, administered the oath to the new cabinet ministers, at Raj Bhawan, Bhopal. The ceremony began around 3:00 P.M., in the presence of the top most leaders of the INC such as Rahul Gandhi, Digvijaya Singh, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Arun Yadav.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member and the former CM of Madhya Pradesh, was also present at the oath taking ceremony.

The newly elected Madhya Pradesh Assembly will begin its session from the 7th of January, 2019.

Apart from the CM of Madhya Pradesh, the CM of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, also appointed his cabinet ministers and held an oath taking ceremony, on Monday, in Jaipur.
