The final match of the Indian Premier League (IPL,) which was scheduled to be held on the 28th of May, Sunday, has now been shifted to the reserve day, the 29th of May.

Notably, thirty five minutes before the toss, heavy rainfall started in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, being a spoilsport for the finale of the 16th edition of the IPL.  Two finalist teams, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the newly launched Gujarat Titans (GT) will have a face off, today, the 29th of May, at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

As per sources, the finale which would be live streamed on Disney Plus Hotstar, would begin at 7:30 P.M.  However, the weather conditions seem to be playing spoilsport again, as the weather department predicted rainfall today also.  Like yesterday, the weather was clear and stood sunny during the day but showered in the evening.  Similarly, as per Monday’s weather forecast, it seems to be clear and sunny, but likely to rain in the evening.

Although the chances of the rainfall on the 29th of May, Monday are less compared to what it was on the 28th of May, the actual day of the final match.  Furthermore, those who have purchased tickets of the IPL match on the 28th of May, have been advised to bring the same physical ticket, for today’s match, scheduled to begin at 7:30 P.M.

Meanwhile, The Gujarat Titans would look to retain the IPL trophy while M.S. Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings will look to win their fifth IPL trophy.

Gujarat Titans lost their first qualifier against Chennai Super Kings at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. However, the Gujarat-based franchise sealed their place in the final after beating Mumbai Indians by 62 runs on Friday, the 26th of May.

Both teams rely heavily on their top order batting.  In addition, GT’s Shubman Gill, in particular, is the highest run-scorer in this year’s IPL, becoming only the second Indian batsman to score over 800 runs in a season.
