Akhilesh Yadav, the Samajwadi Party (SP) chief, replied to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mahamilavat’ comment and stated, two and a half men are running India.

Mr. Modi, on the 8th of February, spoke from the floor of the Lok Sabha in his Motion of Thanks for the President’s Speech and said, the alliance of the opposition parties is ‘Mahamilavat’ (Grand Adulteration.)

In response to Modi’s sharp comments, Akhilesh Yadav, on the 8th of February, held a press conference and made the ‘two and a half men’ comment. He referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President, and Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, as the ‘two and a half men.’

Mr. Yadav, during the press conference, said, “Let us vow that we will #NeverAgain… let people die waiting in line to withdraw money from a bank…fall for the 15 lakh rupee lie…allow farmers to kill themselves…let national security enrich the famous few…let people be killed for their beliefs…let two and half men rule us.”

The SP leader took to Twitter and released a series of tweets criticising Modi and his Government.

Yadav also claimed, the BJP did not fulfill the promises it made to the citizens of the Country. With regard to this, he said, “The State Government presented its third budget but no promises have been fulfilled. The BJP has forgotten its own ‘Sankalp Patra’.”

Yadav concluded the conference by holding the BJP responsible for the current situation of the Nation, “The Government is responsible. Who is brewing such liquor, the Government knows everything? BJP leaders are involved in it (sic.)”

Since the 19th of January, after the Trinamool Congress held the United India Rally, the BJP is taking a dig at the opposition parties, who were in support of the TMC. Parties such as the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the SP participated in the rally and supported Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal.

The rally was held ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, to attack the ruling party in India, the BJP.

The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled between April and May 2019 and the major parties contesting are the Indian National Congress (INC) and the BJP.

Stay tuned for further updates about the Lok Sabha elections.
