The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) after facing defeat in five States’ Legislative Assembly elections, is planning ahead for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA,) led by the BJP, faced some disputes with parties over seat sharing. Following the dispute, Upendra Kushwaha, the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) chief, quit the Party and joined hands with the United Progressive Alliance (UPA,) led by the Congress party.

However, Ram Madhav, a senior BJP leader, denied the disputes and said, the BJP is ready to welcome new allies ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Ram Madhav, hinting at the formation of new alliances, said, “Alliance politics is all about accommodation and adjustment and for that, the BJP is ready.” He further added, “It is true that certain smaller allies like Kushwaha have decided to leave us, but we are working on bringing new allies into our fold, especially in south India and the eastern India.”

The BJP is expected to form an alliance with Tamil Nadu’s All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK.) However, an official announcement about BJP’s new allies is yet to be made.

The NDA parties such as Ram Vilas Paswan’s Lok Janashakti Party (LJP,) Anupriya Patel led Apna Dal (Sonelal) and Om Prakash Rajbhar’s Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) alleged the BJP of not giving the due respect to the parties’ members. The other allegations were regarding seat sharing among the parties.

Recently, Chirag Paswan, Ram Vilas Paswan’s son, took to Twitter and said, the BJP should resolve the matters with the NDA parties.

The NDA has a strategy of sharing 50:50 seats between the BJP and Nitish Kumar, the Chief Minister of Bihar and the rest of the seats will be given to the smaller parties of NDA.

According to the rules of the Lok Sabha elections of 2019, a total of 40 members from Bihar can contest the elections.
