The Congress party and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) alliance released the second list of nominees contesting in the Telangana Assembly elections, on Wednesday.
The second list includes 10 candidates from Congress and 2 candidates from the TDP.
The ‘grand alliance’ includes Congress, the TDP, the Telangana Jana Samiti (TJS) and the Communist Party of India (CPI.)
The Congress reserved a total of 25 seats for the partner parties with 14 seats for the TDP, 8 seats for the TJS and 3 for the CPI. Except for the TJS, the other parties belonging to the alliance released their second list of nominees, on Wednesday.
A total number of 75 candidates were nominated by Congress, 11 by the TDP and 3 by the CPI. A discussion is still going on about the seats to be allotted to the TJS, as the party wants to contest for 12 seats instead of the 8 allotted.
Some of the candidates representing the Congress are Sravan Dasoju for the Khairatabad constituency and former Member of Parliament (MP,) Ramesh Rathod for the Khanapur constituency (ST.)
The two members nominated by the TDP are Sama Ranga Reddy for the Ibrahimpatnam constituency and Ramesh Gupta for the Rajendra Nagar constituency.
The CPI announced its three candidates: Chada Venkat Reddy for the Husnabad constituency, Gunda Mallesh for the Bellampalli (SC) constituency and Banothu Vijayabai for the Wyra (ST) constituency.
The lists issued by Congress disappointed some of the party leaders who failed to get nominated. They claimed the party is partial as candidates belonging to backward classes were not nominated for the elections.
The Telangana Assembly has a total of 119 seats. The Telangana Assembly elections are scheduled on the 7th of December and the results will be declared on the 11th of December.
