Satyajeet Tambe Patil, a Congress leader in Maharashtra, today, reacted to the trailer of The Accidental Prime Minister, a movie based on the life of former Prime Minister (PM) of India, Manmohan Singh and his journey as the PM of India.
Satyajeet Tambe Patil, the President of the Maharashtra Youth Congress (MYC,) issued a warning and wrote a letter to Sunil Bohra and Dhaval Gadha, the producers of the film. In the letter, Mr. Patil asked for a special screening of the movie for the members of the Congress party, before the release. The Accidental Prime Minister, starring Anupam Kher as the lead, will release on the 11th of January, 2019.
According to Mr. Patil, the trailer of the movie shows incidents which are incorrect and has fabricated information. He said, in the trailer, “facts have been played with and presented in incorrect manner with regards to the ex prime minister Manmohan Singh, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress party to malign the image of the party.” He further demanded the makers edit and delete some of the scenes, if needed, after the Congress party previews the film.
The release of the trailer took a political turn as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also took to Twitter and gave top ratings to the trailer.

P.L. Punia, a senior Congress leader, claimed, the tweet by the BJP is one of the tactics of the Party to distract the public. Mr. Punia said, “This is a BJP game, they know 5 years are about to complete and they have nothing to show to the people so they are using these tactics to divert attention.”
The Accidental Prime Minister, directed by Vijay Gutte, is based on a book written by Sanjaya Baru, Manmohan Singh’s personal advisor during Mr. Singh’s tenure as the PM of India.
