Hyderabad is preparing for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled between April and May 2019. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is working on the arrangements to conduct the elections peacefully in the City.

M. Dana Kishore, the GHMC Commissioner and the District Election Officer (DEO,) on the 12th of February, said, “Elaborate arrangements were being made for the smooth and peaceful conduct of coming Lok Sabha elections in Hyderabad.”

During a meeting held on the 12th of February, M. Dana Kishore, Anjani Kumar, the Police Commissioner of Hyderabad, and other officials discussed about the arrangements for the elections.

Sri G. Ravi, the Hyderabad District Joint Collector, will be the Returning Officer (RO) during the polls, whereas M. Raghunandan Rao, the Hyderabad District Collector, will be the RO for the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency.

Deputy Commissioners, Zonal Commissioners and Revenue Divisional Officers were assigned as Assistant ROs for each Assembly segment. On the other hand, officers who hold the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) were deployed as the Police Nodal Officers.

There will be two main constituencies in the City, the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency and the Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency.

The Assembly segments under the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency are Malakpet, Karwan, Goshamahal, Charminar, Chandrayangutta, Yakutpura and Bahadurpura.

The Assembly constituencies which are a part of the Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency are Musheerabad, Amberpet, Khairatabad, Jubilee Hills, Sanath Nagar, Nampally and Secunderabad.
