The Indian National Congress (INC,) on the 10th of February, took to Twitter and criticised Piyush Goyal, the Railway Minister of India.
The criticism came post Mr. Goyal’s tweet about the Vande Bharat Express, the fastest train in India.
Piyush Goyal posted a video on Twitter and said, “It’s a bird…It’s a plane…Watch India’s first semi-high speed train built under ‘Make in India’ initiative, Vande Bharat Express zooming past at lightening speed.”
The INC criticised Goyal’s acclaim and said, “The only thing travelling at lightning speed are Mr. ‘Ghotala’s’ lies.”
Khushbu Sundar, the spokesperson of the INC, claimed, the video is fake and the ‘fastest train’ in the video is nothing but the result of an increased frame speed. She also deemed the action to be a ‘jumla.’

Srivatsa, another INC member, claimed, the video was edited to play at a speed of 2X to make it look dramatic. He further said, with such an edit, even the Shatabdi Express will run at this lightning speed.

The Vande Bharat Express, formerly known as Train 18, is expected to start from the 15th of February and will initially travel from Delhi to Varanasi and vice versa. The speed of the train is said to be 180 km per hour (kmph.) The Vande Bharat Express will be equipped with facilities like WiFi, GPS based passenger information, LED lights, temperature control system, mobile charging points and touch free bio vacuum toilets.
On the 15th of February, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Vande Bharat Express.
