Kareena Kapoor Khan, on the 22nd of January, said, “There is no truth to these reports. I have not been approached for this whatsoever. My focus is and only will be movies.”

Recently, two Congress ministers, Guddu Chouhan and Anees Khan, approached Rahul Gandhi, the Congress party chief, and asked him to give a ticket to Kareena Kapoor Khan to contest the upcoming elections.

According to sources, Yogendra Singh Chauhan, a Congress corporator in Bhopal, sent a letter to Rahul Gandhi, suggesting Kareena’s name as an appropriate candidate. In the letter, he mentioned, “If Kareena Kapoor fights from Bhopal, we can hope to snatch the seat long held by the BJP,”

Mr. Chauhan was also expected to meet Kamal Nath, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, regarding the same.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) mocked the move by the Congress party as an ‘entertaining’ one and claimed, the BJP will win at least 22 Lok Sabha seats in Bhopal, out of a total of 24 seats.

The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled between April and May 2019. The major parties contesting the elections in Madhya Pradesh are the Congress party and the BJP.
