Mohan Babu, a Tollywood actor and a Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) leader, on the 17th of April, campaigned in Karnataka, for the Lok Sabha elections.
Mohan Babu campaigned for Sumalatha, an independent Member of Parliament (MP) candidate from the Mandya constituency, Karnataka.
Sumalatha is contesting against the grand alliance of the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Janata Dal (Secular) [JD(S.)] The BJP is not contesting from the Mandya constituency and extended its support to Sumalatha.
Sumalatha will compete against Nikhil Gowda, the son of H.D. Kumaraswamy, the Chief Minister of Karnataka.
Mohan Babu, during the public rally in Mandya, urged voters to vote for Sumalatha and criticised the JD(S) and N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (AP.)

Chandrababu Naidu recently addressed a public rally and campaigned for Nikhil Gowda, the MP candidate from Mandya.
Karnataka will contest a total of 28 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, which will be held in 2 phases. The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled on the 18th and 23rd of April.
The major parties contesting are the grand alliance of the INC and the JD(S) and the BJP.
The results of the elections will be announced on the 23rd of May 2019.
