The Indian National Congress (INC) is expected to finalise its first list of candidates, who will contest the Lok Sabha elections in Telangana.
The list is likely to be released on the 13th or the 14th of March, following the Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting on the 13th of March.
The All Indian Congress Committee (AICC) held a meeting on the 12th of March, after which, the Party shortlisted a few names of those who could be the candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking about the number of candidates, the Party is clear about approximately 13 candidates, whereas discussions about the remaining 4 are still going on.
According to sources, the first list of the candidates contesting the Telangana Lok Sabha elections, which includes 13 names, will be announced soon.
Telangana will contest a total of 17 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled on the 11th of April 2019.
The major parties contesting the Telangana Lok Sabha elections are the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)
