Parth Pawar, the grand nephew of Sharad Pawar, the President of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP,) is all set to enter politics, after being elected as a candidate for the Maval constituency in Maharashtra for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The Party, on the 15th of March, officially announced, the 28 year old Parth will contest as the Member of Parliament (MP) of the Maval constituency in the upcoming Maharashtra Lok Sabha elections.

Recently, Sharad Pawar announced he is retiring from active politics and his family members, including his daughter Supriya Sule and grand nephew Parth Pawar, will continue his legacy.

The NCP, on the 15th of March, also released its second list of 5 candidates contesting the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra.

The candidates selected are Amol Kolhe (Shirur constituency,) Sameer Bhujbal (Nashik constituency,) Parth Pawar (Maval constituency,) Bajrang Sonawane (Beed constituency) and Dhanraj Mahale (Dindori constituency.)

The NCP is expected to fill a total of 22 candidates in Maharashtra, whereas the remaining seats will be filled by the allies of the NCP.

Maharashtra will contest a total of 48 seats in four phases in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled on the 11th, 18th, 23rd and 29th of April 2019.

The results of the elections will be declared on the 23rd of May 2019.
