Udayanraje Bhonsle, a sitting Member of Parliament (MP) of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP,) is the richest candidate in Maharashtra, representing the Party in the Lok Sabha elections.

Udayanraje Bhonsle, who is contesting from the Satara constituency in Maharashtra, has a total net value of Rs. 199 crores, making the richest candidate in Maharashtra.

Movable Assets

Udayanraje Bhonsle owns movable assets worth Rs. 13.38 crores, whereas his wife Damayantiraje Bhonsle has movable assets valued at Rs. 10 lakhs. Udayanraje has also invested Rs. 1.45 crores in shares and PPF accounts and has Rs. 89 lakhs cash in banks.

Bhonsle gave personal loans of Rs 8.16 crores to people, including his wife. Udayanraje took Rs 35.69 lakhs from the family as a personal loan. The family has jewellery worth Rs 1.90 crores, which includes diamond sets, necklaces and bajubandh.

Apart from money and jewellery, the family has five cars, including a Mercedes Benz, a Ford Endeavour, an Audi, a Maruti Gypsy and a Volkswagen Polo. Four of these vehicles are registered under Udayanraje’s name, whereas one is registered under his wife’s name.

Immovable Assets

Udayanraje Bhonsle and his family own immovable assets valued at Rs. 185 crores, out of which, assets worth Rs. 157 crores are owned by Udayanraje. The family owns agricultural land worth Rs. 116.85 crores, non agriculture land worth Rs. 36.34 lakhs, commercial properties worth Rs. 5.09 crores and residential properties worth Rs. 27.40 crores.

For the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Bhonsle submitted an affidavit while filing his nomination, in which he mentioned, his assets were worth Rs. 60 crores. The movable assets, immovable assets and liabilities were worth Rs. 3.84 crores, Rs. 55.89 crores and Rs 3.12 lakhs respectively.

The net value of Udayanraje Bhonsle was declared after he submitted his affidavit to the Returning Officer (RO) of Satara while filing his nomination papers for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

He submitted his nomination papers to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra.

Maharashtra will contest a total of 48 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, which will be held in three phases in the State. The Maharashtra Lok Sabha elections are scheduled on the 18th, 23rd and 29th of April 2019.

The major parties contesting the Maharashtra Lok Sabha elections are the Indian National Congress (INC,) the NCP, the Shiv Sena and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)

The results of the Lok Sabha elections will be announced on the 23rd of May 2019.
