Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the 18th of January 2019, will inaugurate the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2019, which will be held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit was conceptualised by Narendra Modi in 2003, to showcase Gujarat as a destination of investment in the field of business. In 2017, the 8th edition of the Summit was a success, with the participation of 2,500 international and national delegates and the heads of 4 countries.

This year, the Summit will be attended by approximately 30,000 national and international delegates and the heads of 5 countries. Business tycoons like Mukesh Ambani, Uday Kotak, Kumar Mangalam Birla and Gautam Adani will also be a part of the Summit.

Mr. Modi reached Gujarat, on the 17th of January 2019. His schedule included the inauguration of several events and projects. The Prime Minister inaugurated the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (SVP) Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, a state of the art public hospital, and the Ahmedabad Shopping Festival.


Speaking about the SVP medical institute, Mr. Modi said, “The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Ahmedabad is dedicated to your service at a cost of Rs. 750 crore.”

The hospital, a part of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, is built on the premises of the old Vadilal Sarabhai Hospital. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) built the SVP Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, which includes 1,500 beds, an air ambulance and new technologies for the public.

According to the Gujarat Government and the Press Information Bureau (PIB,) Mr. Modi, on the 18th of January 2019, will have a round table interaction with the head of global sovereign wealth funds, pension funds and institutional investors.

Later, on the 19th of January, PM Modi is expected to visit Silvassa, the capital of the union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. There, he will inaugurate the Hazira Gun Factory and the first medical college of Silvassa.
