The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) claimed, they will play a key role in the formation of the Government in Telangana after the results of the Telangana elections are announced, on Sunday.

The State BJP President, K. Laxman, said, “We have contested the election on our own for the first time after a decade. We have contested the polls to win. The BJP will be part of the government. Without the BJP, there cannot be any government. What happens after the results are declared, we will think of it.” He further said, “We will speak to the high command in New Delhi and consider it. We will extend our support if it is needed. But we will never hold talks with the AIMIM or the Congress-led alliance.”

Speaking about the predicted defeat of the BJP, Mr. Laxman stated, if the BJP had more time to prepare for the polls, they would form a Government in Telangana on their own. It is the early dissolution of the Telangana Assembly by K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR,) the Chief Minister of Telangana, which is the reason behind the BJP’s fractured government in Telangana.

K. Laxman said, to avoid the charisma of the BJP, KCR decided to dissolve the Assembly early, otherwise the BJP would have chances to win the elections.

K. Laxman approached the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) to join hands with the BJP and form an alliance. However, the TRS denied to do so and said, they are confident about winning the elections and do not need any support.

B. Vinod Kumar, a TRS leader and Member of Parliament (MP) of Karimnagar, said, “We are confident that we will form the government on its own. There is no need for any support.”

The Telangana Assembly elections were conducted on the 7th of December and the results of the elections will be announced on the 11th of December.
