Asaduddin Owaisi, President, All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM,) accused Chandrababu Naidu of ordering a police attack on him in 1999, on Monday, while addressing a public rally in Hyderabad.

On the 22nd of September, 1999, when Asaduddin Owaisi was campaigning in Guntur for the Congress, he was attacked by the Task Force, which was allegedly ordered by Chandrababu Naidu. Mr. Owaisi revealed how the former Congress President, Vijay Bhaskar Reddy, told Asaduddin’s father, Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi, about the police attack being ordered by the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu.

During the rally on Monday, Asaduddin Owaisi said, Rahul Gandhi, the Congress President, should know how Mr. Owaisi took bullets for the Congress. Mr. Owaisi even wondered how he was nice and supported the Congress between 1998 to 2012.

Mr. Owaisi further shared how he felt when Rahul Gandhi showed arrogance against the AIMIM and accused him of having a secret deal with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)

Owaisi also spoke about the pain he felt when Chandrababu Naidu, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief, and Rahul Gandhi joined hands and started campaigning together.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the AIMIM share a friendly relationship. Asaduddin Owaisi supports the KCR led TRS and is helping KCR campaign for the upcoming Telangana elections.

The Telangana Assembly elections are scheduled on the 7th of December and the results will be announced on the 11th of December.
