The Telangana Government announced a public holiday for some schools and offices in Telangana, on Tuesday.

The State Government declared, organisations such as schools, institutes, offices, where the counting of votes will be held, will remain closed under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.

Telangana conducted its elections for 119 Assembly seats on the 7th of December. A total of 1,821 candidates contested the elections.

The major parties which contested were the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the Prajakutami (people’s alliance) consisting of the Congress party, the Telangana Desam Party (TDP,) the Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) and the Communist Party of India (CPI.)

The surveys conducted ahead of the results of the elections suggest, the TRS, led by K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR,) will continue to remain in power in Telangana.

According to the Election Commissions (EC,) a majority of 60 seats is required to win the Telangana elections and form a Government.

The results of the Telangana Assembly elections, 2018, will be announced on the 11th of December (tomorrow.)
