Kalvakuntla Kavitha, on the 13th of March, announced, she will sponsor the education of a student, who got admitted to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, Tamil Nadu.
Mahinder, the IIT student, on Kavitha’s birthday (the 13th of March,) sent her a selfie video with birthday greetings and wishes. It is the first time Kavitha got such wishes from a citizen of Telangana.
Touched by his gesture, Kavitha decided to sponsor his education at IIT Madras.
To contribute to the welfare of the citizens of Telangana, Kavitha also founded the Telangana Jagruthi, a non governmental organisation (NGO) which helps the women and youth of Telangana in becoming independent and getting jobs.
On her birthday, the Telangana Jagruthi Student Wing organised a birthday party and celebrated Kavitha’s birthday with her.
Kavitha is the first woman Member of Parliament (MP) of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and Telangana. She became the MP of Nizamabad constituency after she won the 2014 Lok Sabha elections with a majority of 1,70,000 votes.
Kavitha has always been a social activist, working for the welfare of the youth and women in Telangana. She also launched several schemes and welfare activities as a member of the TRS, the ruling government of Telangana, for the growth and development of Telangana.
Kavitha started her political career in 2004 by joining her father, K.Chandrashekar Rao (KCR,) the Chief Minister of Telangana, during the Telangana Statehood movement.
Kavitha was also honoured with the prestigious Best Parliamentarian Award in 2019, for her performance as a Member of Parliament.
Politicians and leaders such as Rahul Ramakrishna and K.T. Rama Rao took to Twitter and conveyed their wishes to Kavitha.
