21 killed, 30 injured in Udhampur bus crash

Udhampur: As many as 21 killed and 30 others were injured in a bus crash in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. The accident occurred when the bus rolled down into a deep gorge. The injured were immediately admitted to a hospital and it is learnt that the condition of six people is critical. The number of casualties is expected to increase.

According to officials, the bus, which was travelling from Latti belt to Udhampur, skidded off and then rolled down into the gorge in Maroti belt in the district.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his grief over the accident. On Twitter, he wrote –

“Disturbing news from J&K. Bus accident in Udhampur has saddened me. My thoughts are with families of the deceased. Prayers with the injured.”
