Aadhar Card Mandatory For Hair Cut In Tamil Nadu

In Tamil Nadu, Aadhar card is mandatory in salons, beauty parlors and spas.

K.Palaniswami, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, announced to mandate Aadhar Card in the aforementioned places and all other service providers places.

According to the sources on the 2nd of June, the Tamil Nadu Government announced for the service providers to collect the Aadhar Card number of customers.

In regard to the announced standard operating procedure (SOP) for salons, beauty parlours and spas, they need to maintain a record of the name, phone number, address, Aadhaar number of the customers.

The Seven page SOP rules for Salons, beauty parlors and spas includes:

  • hand wash facilities with soap or provide hand sanitiser to the customers and employees.
  • Mandatory hand gloves and face masks and must wash their hands before attending to customers.
  • Blades should not be reused and napkins given to customers should be disposed of safely.
  • Headbands and towels one used for a customer should not be reused before washing.
  • Owners should not allow employees having cold, cough or fever symptoms from working and ask them to approach a doctor immediately.

In addition, only 50 % customers would be allowed at a time maintaining social distancing.

The Tamil Nadu Government even issued an official release for the same, which read, “All districts will be divided into eight zones in the state. Relaxations on 50 per cent of public transportation have been given in the first six zones. E-pass will also not be necessary for movement in these zones. Hired vehicles and taxis can operate within the zones without an e-Pass, and apart from the driver, three passengers are allowed in a vehicle.”

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu has a total 24,586 cases of the Novel Coronavirus.  Out of the total of 10,680 are active cases, 13,706 recovered/discharged and 200 fatalities till the 3rd of June.
