The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP,) today, reminded Manoj Tiwari, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member, to live up to his promise of donating ₹ 1 lakh to the Delhi Government.

Manoj Tiwari, on the 18th of October, challenged the Delhi Government to approve the fourth phase of the Delhi Metro expansion project and that if they do so, he will pay ₹ 1 lakh to the AAP.

Mr.Tiwari said, “Arvind Kejriwal ji, do not punish people who have elected you. Delhi gave 67 out of 70 seats to Kejriwal, but he says he will not give them Metro. Take your donation. I will give you Rs 1,11,100 that I earn through singing if you clear Phase IV Metro.”

Considering the month old tweet of Manoj Tiwari, the AAP reminded him of his promise and asked him to pay the amount.

The Delhi Government, on Wednesday, approved Phase IV of the Delhi Metro expansion project.

The project was on hold as it kept going back and forth between the Delhi Government, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.

Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, blamed the BJP for the delay in approving the project and said, although the BJP tried their best to “create hurdles through officers by making them write adverse comments on files and through rumour mongering,” the project was given clearance for its fourth phase.

The Phase IV of the Delhi Metro was pending since 2 years, due to doubts regarding the practicality of the project. The Phase IV is expected to connect parts of Outer Delhi with Central Delhi.
