After the Prime Minister’s Howdy Modi event in Houston, Texas, the United States of America (U.S.A.,) it is the ‘Namaste Trump’ event in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.  

The ‘Namaste Trump’ event is organised in the honour of Donald Trump, the President of the U.S.A., who is on a two day visit to India.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) shared pictures of Motera Stadium which was crowded with people for the historic ‘Namaste Trump’ event.

Donald Trump visited India for the first time after the PM Modi led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the Lok Sabha elections in 2019 and formed the Central Government for a second time.

Mr. Trump landed in India at 11:40 A.M.,  and was received by Indian dignitaries at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.  Later he addressed a road show with PM Modi in Ahmedabad.

Before the ‘Namaste Trump’ event, Donald Trump with First Lady Malenia Trump,  Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, Trump’s daughter and the son in law, visited Sabarmati Ashram.  Mr. Trump also visited the Indira Bridge, following which he reached the Motera Stadium in his special convoy.  Lakhs of people were waiting for his arrival, tight army security and police officials were deployed for the grand event in Ahmedabad.

Prime Minister Modi started the event with his opening speech and said, “I was at the Howdy Modi event in Houston and today President Trump is beginning his historic trip to India with a visit to Ahmedabad.  I welcome President Trump to the world’s largest democracy though Motera is in Gujarat, the sentiments you see here are of India.”

Moving ahead with his speech, Narendra Modi said, “India-US relations is not just a partnership. It has grown to be much closer.  President Trump is here with his family and I thank the people of Gujarat for hosting this event.”

After this event, Mr. Trump is scheduled to visit Agra’s Taj Mahal at 5:15 P.M.

Later in the day, Donald Trump will fly to Delhi and spend the next day in that city.

Donald Trump is expected to leave for the U.S.A., on the 26th of February.
