AIBEA calls for nation-wide strike on June 2

New Delhi: On Saturday, the All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) called for a nation-wide strike on June 24. the strike has been called in support of various demands of the State Sector Bank Employees Association (SSBEA). Apart from the nation-wide strike, unions of associate banks have also called for a strike on June 4 in their respective cities.

AIBEA General Secretary C.H. Venkatachalam told PTI that the demands include extension of compassionate appointment scheme as per government guidelines, not curbing right of trade unions’ right of representation, delinking associate banks from SBI, increase in quantum of staff housing loan, recruitment of sub-staff and part-time employees and resolving pending demands and others. He also added that management of SBI of hampering the performance of associate banks.
