Amit Shah, the Home Minister of India, met Ajit Doval, the National Security Advisor of India, and the chief of the Intelligence Bureau to discuss the security of Jammu and Kashmir.

During the meeting, which was held on the 19th of August, the three of them discussed the current situation of Jammu and Kashmir, especially the area, where restrictions were removed.

Approximately 48,000 troops were deployed to maintain peace and security in Jammu and Kashmir since the 5th of August, prior to the announcement of revocation of Article 370.

The Government of India (GoI) on the 5th of August, announced to scrap Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, which provided special status to the State.

Almost two weeks after the announcement, the Central Government, on the 17th of August, restored communication services in few parts of Jammu and Kashmir.   The schools were also declared to run normally from the 19th of August. Although the GoI announced that schools can re open the students did not appear, on the other hand majority of private schools remained close.

However, political leaders of Jammu and Kashmir are still under house arrest and will be released after the GoI completes a security inspection in the union territory.

Stay tuned for further updates.
