Three terrorists were gunned down by security forces in Kashmir’s Anantnag district. The encounter ended early this morning pushing the Government to keep schools and colleges closed today as a precautionary measure.
Two of the three terrorists were recognized as Eesa Fazili of Soura in Srinagar and Syed Owais of Kokernag in South Kashmir. The police said the third terrorist would be identified soon.
The officials launched a search operation after intelligence reports showed terrorists in Anantnag. The police statement said, “While the search was on, the hiding militants fired upon the party ensuing an encounter during which three militants were gunned down.”
The police officials said they cordoned off the area and ensured the terrorist could not escape. The police recovered AK 47 rifles, hand grenades and pistols. The officials further added there was no collateral damage.
