Amid concerns over the demolition of the resort, which is a major crime spot in the Uttarakhand teen, Ankita Bhandari murder case, the forensic team made a statement.
On the 26th of September, the forensic team, investigating the Ankita Bhandari murder case assured all the evidence be safe. Ms. P.R. Devi, the Director General of Police (DIG) of Uttarakhand Police and Special Investigation Team (SIT) in charge in the murder case said, “Uttarakhand: Forensic team had collected all the evidence from the Vanatara resort before its demolition (on Sept 24). All evidence found there being used in forensic investigation is safe; further probe underway.”
Notably, after the Uttarakhand police recovered the body of 19 year old Ankita Bhandari’s body from a canal, a murder case investigation was launched. After the initial probe, it was found that Ankita, who worked as a receptionist at Vanatara Resort, owned by Pulkit Arya, the son of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mr. Vinod Arya, was murdered. The resort owner Mr. Pulkit along with his resort staff, allegedly murdered Ankita, after she refused to provide special sexual favours to Pulkit’s guests, at the resort.
Moreover, after the incident came into light, the resort was also demolished amid illegal construction in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand.
