AIB is a famous comedy group on Youtube that doesn’t shy away from joking about anything and everything. The group has managed to get into trouble yet again. On Friday, the Cyber Cell of the Mumbai Police  registered a complaint against the main man of AIB, Tanmay Bhat for an offensive meme about Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Mumbai Police DCP, Rashmi Karandikar was quoted saying, “We have registered the FIR at the Cyber Police Station in this regard after due legal consultations. Further details will be communicated later.”

The meme released on Wednesday showed a picture of Modi looking into his phone and on the other side a picture of a man similar to Modi but with the ears and nose of a dog with the hashtag ‘wanderlust.’ The caption for the meme read, ‘Dog filter is lyf’ (dog filter is life.)

The meme caused a lot of negative reactions from the BJP circle leading to AIB deleting the meme. This, in turn, invited the anger of the Congress activists.

On Thursday, a number of people of Twitter went on a rampage tagging the Mumbai Police asking for strict action against AIB for its offensive meme.

Tanmay Bhat remained his calm self and assured he would continue to make jokes about everything.

Tanmay’s tweet read, “Will continue making jokes. And deleting if necessary. And making jokes again. And apologizing if necessary. Don’t care what you think.”

Bhat defended the meme on his AIB website and said the uproar was unnecessary and had a lack of rational reasoning.
