To celebrate Armed Forces Flag Day, politicians in India cut across their party lines to express solidarity to the Indian Armed Forces. The politicians have also urged the Indian citizens to donate to the jawans’ welfare.
The 7th of December has been observed as the Indian Armed Forces Flag Day since 1949. The day aims at honoring the sailors, airmen and soldiers who have sacrificed their lives to protect our future.
Today is also a day when people can do their part to help the serving jawans. You can donate to help provide rehabilitation for battle victims and supporting their families.
Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit donated Rs. 25,000 to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund on Wednesday.
The Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh also asked the people to donate money to ensure the well being of the men who fight for the country. He said, “On this Flag Day, let us strive to help the families of our brave soldiers who gave their lives in service while honoring the motherland.”
A quote that is written at the Kohima War Cemetery truly reveals the sacrifice and pain of our jawans. It says, “When you go home, tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow, we gave our today.”
