Arvind Kejriwal, the President of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP,) after winning the Delhi Assembly elections, staked the claim to form the Government.
Mr. Kejriwal met Anil Baijal, the Governor of Delhi, to form the AAP Government for a third term after defeating the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by winning 62 Assembly seats out of the 70.
After the meeting with the State Governor, the Party announced the oath taking ceremony would take place on the 16th of February.
Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and an AAP leader, along with Arvind Kejriwal, addressed a press conference and said, “We will be holding the oath taking ceremony on Sunday at 10 A.M…. Everyone in Delhi is invited to come and bless their son, their brother, Arvind Kejriwal and take an oath for a better Delhi.”
While Mr. Kejriwal would take the oath of office as the Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia would be sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister. The newly elected Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) of Delhi are also expected to take the oath.
Ahead of the oath taking ceremony, Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia are going to resign from their respective posts to take over once again.
The AAP, which is grateful to Delhi’s citizens, announced everyone is welcome to the ceremony and invited all of Delhi’s residents as guests.
The swearing in ceremony is scheduled to be held at 10:00 A.M., on the 16th of February at Ramlila Maidan, Delhi.
