Rajasthan’s ruling party, the Indian National Congress (INC) on the 14th of August, moved the confidence motion.
During the floor test, the INC proved the support of the majority of the Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs.)
During the Assembly session of Rajasthan, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former Deputy CM Sachin Pilot also resolved their differences.
Sachin Pilot said, “The vote of confidence which was brought by the Government has been passed with a very good majority today in the Rajasthan Assembly. Despite various attempts by the opposition, the result is in favour of (the) Government.” He further added,” I have complete faith, that roadmap will be announced timely.”
The Ashok Gehlot led Rajasthan Government won the motion of confidence with a majority of 107 MLAs. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have 72 MLAs and remaining were from the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) (6 MLAs,) and independent MLAs.
With this, the one month long political turmoil came to an end.
After the trust vote, C.P. Joshi, the Speaker of the Rajasthan Assembly adjourned the session till the 21st of August.
