At the Asian Games, Indian Boxer Amit Panghal made India proud by winning a gold medal. He defeated Olympic Champion Hasanboy Dusmatov of Uzbekistan in Men’s Light Fly(49 kg.) boxing event on day 14 at Asian Games.
Amit Panghal gave India the first gold in boxing and also took the tally of gold to 14. The 22-year-old boy won a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games 2018. This win marks the highest point of Amit’s rise to the top, starting with an Asian Championships bronze last year.
Amit Panghal defeated Philippines’ Carlo Paalam. With a 3-2 verdict in the semifinal of the Men’s Light Fly (49kg) match and now, he has won the gold for India by defeating the Olympic Champion Hasanboy Dusmatov.
