Bandaru Dattatreya, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) on the 11th of September, took oath as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh.
Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India, on the 2nd of September, appointed Mr. Dattatreya as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh.
V. Ramasubramanian, the Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh, administered the oath of office to Bandaru Dattatreya at 11:00 A.M., on the 11th of September.
The oath taking ceremony was held at the Raj Bhavan in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. Jairam Thakur, the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, State Ministers and other dignitaries were present at the event.
Mr. Dattatreya reached Shimla on the 10th of September with his family.
Kishan Reddy, the Home Minister of State, K. Laxman, the President of the BJP in Andhra Pradesh and a few BJP leaders from Telangana also attended the oath taking ceremony.
Bandaru Dattatreya is the 27th Governor of Himachal Pradesh.
