Sourav Ganguly, the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and former Indian cricket captain, was admitted to Woodlands Hospital in Kolkata. 

On the afternoon of the 2nd of January, Mr. Ganguly who is 48 years old complained of chest pain and was rushed to the hospital.

Speaking to the media, an anonymous source close to the former India skipper said “Dada (Sourav) complained of chest pain and was rushed to the hospital. He might need to undergo angioplasty. He is out of danger.”

Recently, the BCCI president visited Eden Gardens and discussed preparations for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) Avishek Dalmiya.

Meanwhile, Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal also wished Sourav Ganguly for his speedy recovery.

Mamata Banerjee took to Twitter and said, “Sad to hear that @SGanguly99 suffered a mild cardiac arrest and has been admitted to hospital. Wishing him a speedy and full recovery. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family!”

As of now, Sourav Ganguly is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU,) under the supervision of a team of doctors.
