Bengaluru Metro stations were closed and all the operations were suspended after the employees started a protest. This decision was taken after the Halasur gate police arrested six BMRCL employees after they assaulted policemen.

The officials at different stations had to send back thousands of Metro commuters with the reason of ‘unscheduled maintenance.’ The BMRCL personnel started a protest after the arrest and demanded the police should release the accused. This protest was staged in front of the Byappanahalli police station.

CPRO and BMRCL confirmed metro services were affected. U.A. Vasanth Rao tweeted that, “Train services temporarily stopped – will tweet once the issues are resolved.” A minor scuffle started between Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) and Karnataka State Industrial Security Force (KSISF) which led to arrest on Thursday. The scuffle started after an employee, stating the designation, refused to scan his bag which started a scuffle.

The security personnel forcibly scanned the employee’s bag, who went into the station and came back with his colleagues. This started the scuffle and a police complaint was filed. The protests were held against the arrests made by police and the sudden suspension attracted
