Mr. Baghel took three major decisions for the benefit of the citizens of Chhattisgarh, hours after the swearing in ceremony. Mr. Baghel’s first decision was to waive off farmers’ loans. The second decision was to increase the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for maize and the third one was to appoint a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the Jhiram Ghati Maoist attack (2013.)

Mr. Baghel addressed the media and said, “Congress president had announced that farm loans will be waived off within 10 days and MSP for maize will be increased from Rs. 1700 to Rs. 2500 per quintal. These two decisions have been taken.”

As per the promise made by Rahul Gandhi, the Congress President, farmers’ loans will be waived off within 10 days of the formation of the Government in the State. Following the promise, Bhupesh Baghel waived off a total loan amount of Rs. 6,100 crores for 16 lakh farmers, yesterday.

The conspirators have not been exposed. No such massacre of politicians ever took place in history. To catch the culprits, SIT has been formed.”

The Congress party won the Chhattisgarh Assembly elections after securing 68 seats in the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly.

The Congress party organised grand oath taking ceremonies in the three winning states, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, yesterday.
