BJP And Its Agenda 2019

The Bharatiya Janata Party, one of the opposition parties of the Lok Sabha is all set to fight against the Indian National Congress (INC) and its alliance.

After a horrible defeat during the Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi still stands as a proud ‘tea seller’ with power and confidence to win the Lok Sabha elections. PM Modi the one who came into power after being the Prime Minister of India, is in action mode to hold the pride again in 2019.

The PM Modi led BJP washed away the Gandhi rule and became the ‘Chowkidar’ of India and made India a proud and powerful country. There is no denying, Mr. Modi tried to build a good relationship with the foreign countries, which benefited Indians and helped the individual Indian states with several development projects.

In 2018, the Modi Government launched many welfare schemes such as the ‘Ayushman Bharat Yojna’ which focuses on the welfare of poor families and provides medical benefits. Other government schemes like ‘Transformation of Aspirational Districts’ which helped approximately 101 backward districts to uplift their infrastructures, basic facilities, health and more.

The other crucial projects of the year were the ‘Beti Padhao Beti Bachao’ programme, the ‘Anti Narcotics Scheme’ which prevents drugs consumption and trafficking in India and the ‘Gobardhan Scheme’ to enhance the living standard of the villages in terms of sanitation and also the conversion of cattle dung into manure and biogas.

The farmers and the traders can’t be more happier with his Make India Digital, Make in India initiatives and Clean India campaign.

Make In India – The initiative increased the job opportunities, increased the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of India and helped the development of rural areas.

Digital India – The Digital India initiative made connectivity across India possible, especially with the rural areas, where broadband was not expected. With Digital India, 2.5 lakh gram panchayats are connected with the urban cities, access to mobile connectivity, electronic manufacturing and much more developments in the IT sections.

Clean India – The Clean India initiative undoubtedly boosted tourism, health improvement and hygiene.

However, Demonetisation was something which did not work out well with the nation, and India still has corrupt ministers, officers and citizens.

The decision of banning Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes was taken overnight to reduce the amount of black money in India, however, the idea was an economic failure.

BJP’s Agenda 2019?

Speaking about the Lok Sabha elections, which will also decide whether the INC will be in power or the BJP will rule again, the agenda of the party is simple and focuses on the benefits of the Indians.

The first and foremost agenda of the BJP is to kick start the construction of the Ayodhya Temple, which is a controversial issue.

The Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi Dispute is a long standing issue for land in Ayodhya. The Babri Masjid was broken down by Hindu extremists who believed Ram was born in the exact same spot the Masjid was built. Now both Hindus and Muslims are having issues for the same piece of land.

The Ayodhya temple is one major trump card which the Modi Government does not want to lose, as the Party promised to build the Ram Temple. This move is said to be helpful for the Party to gain millions of Hindu religious voters, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

Moving further the recently added 103rd Amendment to the Constitution (Constitution 103rd Amendment,) which was designed especially for the economically weaker section (EWS) of the society. This move was done as a major accomplishment to show before the elections.
In addition, the Triple Talaq Bill to protect Muslim Women (Rights of Marriage), cannot be forgotten, as one of the actions to show their ideas for the welfare of all people.

The other developments under the Modi Government are road construction, electricity connections, transport connectivity, especially, in the Northeast States.

Highlighting the BJP’s agenda, the failure of the BJP can’t be neglected. In 2018, the CBI issue is said to be one of the failures of the BJP Government. The issue showcased interference of the Modi Government into the independent agency, the CBI.

The Alok Verma v/s Rakesh Asthana case is an example of the same. The incident shook the trust of Indians among the CBI. On the other hand, the actions of the Government was not at all soothing.

The Government not only removed the CBI Directors overnight but also gained a lot of criticism for hiring M. Nageswara Rao, as the interim CBI Director.

The INC used the opportunity to play the blame game and accused the involvement of the BJP to escape the Rafale Deal.

The biggest failure is increased unemployment. According to the unemployment report released in 2019, the rate of unemployment jumped to 6.10 % whereas, in 2017 it was 3.52 %. The current unemployment is double of the last year.

The advantages and the disadvantages of the Modi led Government are enough for the people to decide whether the power should be given to the Modi Government or the INC will make justice this year.

In 2014, the BJP led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) won approximately 300 Lok Sabha seats against the INC led United Progressive Alliance (UPA.)

It will be interesting to see which of these parties, will become the powerful government of India, after the Lok Sabha elections. After the elections, the new winning party will constitute the 17th Lok Sabha House.

The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled between April and May 2019.
