The Human Resource Development Minister suspended CBSE Official K. S. Rana in connection to the CBSE exam paper leak. The police also arrested three men including two teachers. The arrests comes after it was revealed that two of CBSE final exam papers were leaked. The third person to be arrested was a tutor from a coaching center who was one of the initial suspected.
Union Education Secretary Anil Swarup tweeted the news, “On the direction of the HRD (Human Resource Development) Minister @PrakashJavdekar to take swift action against culprits, the Board has suspended K. S. Rana, the official found lax in supervising examination center (0859) with immediate effect. A formal inquiry has been instituted.”
The investigators reported the two arrested teachers from Mother Khazani Convent School in Bawana New Delhi. The two are accused of unsealing the CBSE 12th standard Economics paper two hours before the exam. They allegedly took a picture of the question paper and sent it to the coaching center tutor.
The three accused then sold the exam paper to students and parents for Rs. 2,000 to 2,500. The two teachers took 50% of the money while the tutor got the same. The officials were notified about the second leak when a 10th class student mailed the leaked paper to the CBSE Chief Anita Karwal. The boy and his father are being question after the email address was tracked down by the police.
The CBSE board announced the re exam date as 25th April for the 12th Economics exam. The 10th Mathematics re exam date will be announced soon.
