The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Central Government is scheduled to hold an all party meeting, ahead of the Budget Session 2023-2024.
The meeting would be held on the afternoon of the 30th of January, Monday, at the Parliament Building. Mr. Prahlad Joshi, the Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister, would chair the meeting, to discuss the upcoming Budget Session, scheduled to begin from the 1st of February.
The Central Government is likely to seek cooperation from the opposition for a smooth running of the Parliament and Union Budget Session. In addition, during the parliamentary all party meeting, the leaders and Members of Parliament (MPs) of the opposition parties would raise issues regarding the Budget Session.
Meanwhile, after the all party meeting, the Central Government and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) are also scheduled to hold a meeting, in the afternoon. During the 30th January Meeting, the NDA and BJP leaders would discuss the strategies for the budget session. The Budget Session would begin with the joint address of Ms. Droupadi Murmu, the President of India, on the 1st of February, Later, an economic survey would be tabled, following which Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman, the Finance Minister of India, would present the 2023-2024 Budget of India.
The last Budget Session ahead of the 2024 General elections would be held in two phases, the first would begin from the 1st of February to the 13th of February. In addition, the second phase would begin from the 13th of March and would continue till the 6th of April.
